We have recently seen a growing trend in the number of high schools and universities (particularly in China) who are looking to develop partnerships with universities & colleges in the States. We will post the most recent requests here. If you are interested in building international links, please contact us for consultation on how we can help facilitate the process. High School in Beijing Seeks University/College Partner in the USA
A high school in Beijing has asked us to identify a number of potential partners (including the possibility of a consortium partnership) in the US before finally choosing one to sign an agreement with.
This high school is looking for some or all of the following from potential partners:
- - American partner will offer some sort of tuition fee discount to accepted students
- - American partner would be willing to send both academic (a week of lectures) and student affairs staff (pre-departure orientation) for visits throughout the year. The high school will provide airfare and accommodation. Partner university will be responsible for meals and personal expenses.
- - American partner would be willing to host regular visits by high school teaching staff for training purposes. These expenses will also be covered by the high school, but ideally the American partner could provide on-campus accommodation when available.
- - American partner would be willing to host summer camps - students would come for 2 week English course (and local excursions), followed by 1 week of site-seeing. The high school expects to pay a fee for the summer camps. (This would also serve as a great recruitment tool for your institution).
A number of Chinese institutions have recently approached us to find American institutions with postgraduate programmes (with a particular interest in Business & Management) who would be willing to develop a partnership for recruitment to the American partner university. These "pre-master's programmes" are already widely accepted by universities in the UK, including The University of Warwick (ranked 4th in UK and 58th in world rankings). Pre-master's programmes last for one academic year and primarily focus on improving the students level of academic English, prepares the student for study overseas in a new system, and provides a foundation of knowledge in a particular academic area.
The American partner university would agree to accepting graduates of this programme who meet the normal entry requirements, and may consider offering some sort of tuition fee discount to successful applicants. They may also be willing to send academic staff for a week of lectures, as well as providing a pre-departure orientation. Flights and accommodation will be provided by the Chinese partner institution.
